## Biography

Ian Rawnsley was a British production designer who worked extensively in television from the 1960s onwards. He contributed to numerous BBC series, including early episodes of *Doctor Who* (credited on the 1974 serial *Robot*), *To the Manor Born* (1979–1980), *Two Up, Two Down* (1979), *The Bagthorpe Saga* (1981) and *Alas Smith & Jones* (1984).

His other credits encompassed comedy and drama programmes such as *Butterflies*, *Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em*, *Till Death Us Do Part*, *The Liver Birds* and *Blankety Blank*. Rawnsley died on 6 August 2013 in England. He was the elder brother of opera singer and actor John Rawnsley.
