## Biography

Ian Redford, also credited as Ian Leslie Redford, is an English actor born on 6 April 1951 in Carshalton, Surrey. He trained with the National Youth Theatre, appearing in their 1967 production of *Zigger Zagger*, and has worked extensively in theatre, film and television.

He is known for television roles including Ken Raynor in *EastEnders* (1990–91), Keith Appleyard in *Coronation Street* (2005–06), Ted Denning in *Midsomer Murders* (2012), Sir Reginald Walker in *Foyle's War* (2003) and Ted Nancarrow in *Strike* (2017–22). Film credits include the Publican in *The Remains of the Day* (1993) and an English Farmer in *3 Men and a Little Lady* (1990). He played CS Ken Bowry in *Murphy's Law* (2007).

Redford has appeared in numerous other series such as *The House of Eliott*, *Medics*, *Casualty*, *The Bill* and *New Tricks*, and in films including *Spaghetti House* (1982) and *The Prince and the Pauper* (2000). He is married with three children and lives in London.
