## Biography

Ingo Preminger was an Austrian-born American film producer and literary agent. Born on 25 February 1911 in Czernowitz (now Chernivtsi, Ukraine), he studied law in Vienna before fleeing Nazi persecution with his family in 1938. He settled in the United States, initially in New York, and later moved to Los Angeles in 1947, where he entered the entertainment industry as a talent agent.

As an agent, Preminger represented several blacklisted screenwriters, including Ring Lardner Jr. and Dalton Trumbo. He produced the 1970 film *M*A*S*H*, directed by Robert Altman, and *The Salzburg Connection* (1972). He was the younger brother of director Otto Preminger and died on 7 June 2006 in Pacific Palisades, California.
