## Biography

Chris Chase (born Irene Greengard, also credited as Irene Kane) was an American actress, model, journalist and writer. Born in Brooklyn, New York City, in 1924, she began as a Vogue model before entering acting under the name Irene Kane.

Her film roles included Gloria Price in Stanley Kubrick’s *Killer’s Kiss* (1955) and Leslie Perry in Bob Fosse’s *All That Jazz* (1979). She appeared on Broadway in productions such as *The Threepenny Opera* (1955) and *Tenderloin* (1960), and on television in *Naked City* and the soap opera *Love of Life*. As Chris Chase she worked as a journalist for *The New York Times* and wrote the memoir *How to Be a Movie Star, or A Terrible Beauty Is Born* (1974), as well as co-authoring several celebrity autobiographies. She was married to Michael Chase and died in New York City in 2013.
