## Biography

Irving Asher (1903–1985) was an American film producer. Born in San Francisco, he began his career in Hollywood in 1919. After joining Warner Bros., he was sent to England as managing director of Teddington Studios in the mid-1930s, where he produced *Murder at Monte Carlo* (1935). He later joined Alexander Korda's London Film Productions and worked on *The Four Feathers* (1939).

Asher returned to Hollywood to produce for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, including *Blossoms in the Dust* (1941), *The Spy in Black* (1939) and *Q Planes* (1939). His later credits include *Elephant Walk* (1954). He subsequently became head of production for 20th Century Fox Television. He was married to actress Laura La Plante.
