Irving Bacon was an American character actor who appeared in hundreds of films between the 1920s and 1960. He began his career on the stage before entering films in the early 1910s, often in supporting roles in comedies.

He is credited in *It Happened One Night* (1934) as a gas station attendant (uncredited), and appeared in other notable films including *Gone with the Wind* (1939), *The Grapes of Wrath* (1940), *His Girl Friday* (1940), *Shadow of a Doubt* (1943) and *Spellbound* (1945). In the late 1930s and early 1940s he played the postman Mr. Crumb (or Mr. Beasley) in Columbia's *Blondie* series. During the 1950s he worked in television, including two episodes of *I Love Lucy*.

Bacon was born in Saint Joseph, Missouri, and died in Hollywood, California, in 1965.
