## Biography

Irving Reis (7 May 1906 – 3 July 1953) was an American film director, radio producer and former cinematographer. Born in New York City, he began his career as a motion-picture photographer, with one of his early credits being cinematography on the MGM revue *The Hollywood Revue of 1929*.

Reis moved into radio in the 1930s, creating and directing the experimental CBS anthology series *Columbia Workshop* from 1936. He joined Paramount Pictures as a scriptwriter in 1938 and began directing features for RKO in 1940. His credits include *The Big Street* (1942), *The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer* (1947), *All My Sons* (1948), *Enchantment* (1948), *Roseanna McCoy* (1949) and *The Four Poster* (1952). He died in Woodland Hills, California.
