## Biography

Jack Gariss was an American writer and producer. He received a screenwriting credit on Cecil B. DeMille's *The Ten Commandments* (1956), alongside Aeneas MacKenzie, Jesse L. Lasky Jr. and Fredric M. Frank. He also worked as an uncredited additional writer on DeMille's *The Greatest Show on Earth* (1952).

Born in Tecumseh, Nebraska, in 1920, Gariss wrote episodes for television series including *Rescue 8* (1958–1959) and *Klondike* (1960), and served as associate producer on *The Westerner* (1960). In later life he taught meditation and hosted radio programmes on spiritual topics for KPFK in Los Angeles. He died in Reseda, California, in 1985.
