## Biography

Jack H. Skirball (1896–1985) was an American film producer. He trained for the rabbinate at Hebrew Union College and served Reform congregations in Cleveland, Ohio, and Evansville, Indiana, before entering the film industry in the 1930s.

After moving to Los Angeles in 1938 he worked with Educational Films Corporation of America and later produced features, including *This Woman is Mine* (1941). He served as associate producer on Alfred Hitchcock’s *Saboteur* (1942) and as producer on *Shadow of a Doubt* (1943). Other credits include *Magnificent Doll* (1946), *The Secret Fury* (1950) and *Payment on Demand* (1951).

In later decades Skirball developed real estate projects and supported Jewish educational and cultural institutions.
