## Biography

Jack Kelly (born John Augustus Kelly Jr., 16 September 1927 – 7 November 1992) was an American actor. He began his career as a child performer in New York stage and radio productions before moving with his family to California in 1938. He is best known for playing Bart Maverick in the ABC television series *Maverick* (1957–1962).

Kelly appeared in numerous films, including *Forbidden Planet* (1956) as Lt. Jerry Farman, and guest roles on series such as *Batman* (1966), *The Rockford Files* (1974) and *Quincy, M.E.* (1976). He later served as mayor of Huntington Beach, California, from 1983 to 1986.
