## Biography

Jack La Rue (born Gaspare Biondolillo, 3 May 1902 – 11 January 1984) was an American stage and screen actor. Born in New York City, he performed in Broadway plays from around 1923 to 1931 after beginning his career in a road company production of Blood and Sand.

He moved to Hollywood in the early 1930s and appeared in numerous films, often as gangsters or thugs. His credits include uncredited roles in *I Am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang* (1932) and *42nd Street* (1933), and the part of the priest in *A Farewell to Arms* (1932). He also appeared in later films such as *Captains Courageous* (1937) and *Robin and the 7 Hoods* (1964), and in television series including *Perry Mason* (1957) and *The Man from U.N.C.L.E.* (1964).
