## Biography

Jacques Krauss (1900–1957) was a French production designer and art director. The son of actor and director Henry Krauss, he began working in cinema in 1933 and contributed to around forty French films over the next two decades.

He is known for his long collaboration with director Julien Duvivier, designing sets for eight of his films, including *La Belle Équipe* (1936) and *Pépé le Moko* (1937). Krauss also worked with directors such as Roger Richebé, Claude Autant-Lara and Richard Pottier on titles including *Madame Sans-Gêne* (1941), *Douce* (1942) and *Caroline chérie* (1951). His final credits appeared in 1957, the year of his death in Paris.
