## Biography

James Andrew Miller is an American producer, writer and journalist. He began his career as a reporter for The Washington Post and later served as special assistant and chief speechwriter to Senate Majority Leader Howard Baker. He has also worked as a producer for CBS News and as executive vice president of original programming for USA Network.

Miller is the co-author, with Tom Shales, of the oral history *Live from New York: The Complete, Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live* (2002). He has written further oral histories including *Those Guys Have All the Fun: Inside the World of ESPN* (2011) and *Powerhouse: The Untold Story of Hollywood’s Creative Artists Agency* (2016). His television producing credits include the series *Brimstone* (1998–1999) and *D.C.* (2000). He appears as himself in the 2026 documentary *Lorne*.
