## Biography

James Berg is an American television writer and producer. He has written for series including *The Golden Girls* (1985), *Roseanne* (1988) and *Gilmore Girls* (2000), and served as a producer on *Roseanne*. He has frequently collaborated with writer and producer Stan Zimmerman.

Berg and Zimmerman met while studying at New York University. Their joint credits include episodes of *The Golden Girls* and the *Roseanne* episode "Don't Ask, Don't Tell", for which they received Writers Guild of America nominations. They created and executive-produced the Lifetime sitcom *Rita Rocks* (2008). Berg has also written for other series such as *Fame*, *Something Wilder* and *Wanda at Large*, and co-wrote the screenplay for the 1996 film *A Very Brady Sequel*.

More recent work includes the 2023 Lifetime film *Ladies of the '80s: A Divas Christmas*, co-written with Zimmerman. The pair have also co-written the play *Silver Foxes*.
