He appeared in more than 80 feature films, mostly in supporting or uncredited roles, from the early 1930s until the early 1950s, and in several television series in the early 1950s. Born in Greenfield, Ohio, Bush began acting on stage as a child and later studied at a theatrical school in California. He made his film debut in the 1932 Western *Wild Horse Mesa* and went on to appear in films including *Gone with the Wind* (1939), *Sergeant York* (1941), *Hangmen Also Die!* (1943) and *Out of the Past* (1947).
