## Biography

James Daly (1918–1978) was an American actor who worked in theatre, film and television. Born James Firman Daly in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin, he played Dr. Honorius in the 1968 film *Planet of the Apes*. He was a regular cast member on the CBS series *Medical Center* (1969–1976) as Dr. Paul Lochner.

Daly began his career on stage after the Second World War, appearing in Broadway productions including *J.B.* (1958) and *Period of Adjustment* (1960). He made numerous television guest appearances, among them *Star Trek* (1969) as Flint, *The Twilight Zone*, *Mission: Impossible*, *Gunsmoke* and *The Fugitive*. He received a Primetime Emmy Award for his performance in the 1965 television film *Eagle in a Cage*.
