James Goldstone (8 June 1931 – 5 November 1999) was an American film and television director. Born in Los Angeles, he was the son of Hollywood agent and producer Jules Goldstone. He graduated from Dartmouth College and received a master’s degree from Bennington College.

Goldstone directed two episodes of the original *Star Trek* series in 1966, including the second pilot “Where No Man Has Gone Before”. He also directed episodes of *The Fugitive* (1963) and pilots for series including *Ironside* and *The Bold Ones: The Senator*. Other television credits include episodes of *The Outer Limits* and *Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea*.

His feature films include *Winning* (1969), *Red Sky at Morning* (1971) and *Rollercoaster* (1977). He won a Primetime Emmy for directing the television film *Kent State* (1981). In later years he taught film studies and was active in the arts in Vermont.
