## Biography

James Hendrie is an English writer, producer and director, known primarily for his work in television comedy. He has contributed scripts to series including *My Family* (2000–2005), *After You've Gone* (2007–2008), *Murder Most Horrid* (1991–1994) and *Spitting Image*, and has also served as script editor and producer on several programmes.

Hendrie wrote and directed the 1989 short film *Work Experience*, which won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film. He has collaborated with writer Ian Brown since 1982 and wrote the *Red Dwarf* episode *Nanarchy* (1997). He trained at Emmanuel College, Cambridge, and began his career in radio and sketch shows such as *Carrott's Lib* and *Three of a Kind*.
