## Biography

James Keast (1957–2020) was a Scottish costume designer. Born in Armadale, West Lothian, he studied at Edinburgh School of Art before working as a costume assistant at Berman’s and Nathan’s in London. He later joined the BBC on a trainee scheme and worked as a costume designer on Bergerac (1987).

His credits include the BBC film *Truly Madly Deeply* (1991), the series *The House of Eliott* (1992), *Our Friends in the North* (1996), *Warriors* (1999), *The Long Firm* (2004), *Luther* (2010–2019), *Mr Selfridge* (2013–2016), *Victoria* (2016), *Yardie* (2018) and *Belgravia* (2020). He won a Bafta award for *The Long Firm* and a Royal Television Society award for *Warriors*.
