James L. Schoppe is an American production designer and art director. He worked in film from 1972 to 2006.

Schoppe served as art director on *Return of the Jedi* (1983) and received an Academy Award nomination for Best Art Direction for the film. His other production design credits include *Being There* (1979, as art director), *Revenge of the Nerds* (1984), *Over the Top* (1987), *Vice Versa* (1988) and *Color of Night* (1994).
