James Leicester (1905–1989) was an American film editor. He worked in the editorial department at Warner Bros., contributing montage sequences to films including *Casablanca* (1942), *Gentleman Jim* (1942), *Mr. Skeffington* (1944) and *Mildred Pierce* (1945).

From the mid-1950s he took editing and supervising editor credits on feature films such as *Silver Lode* (1954), *Tennessee's Partner* (1955), *Slightly Scarlet* (1956), *The River's Edge* (1957) and *Enchanted Island* (1958). He later edited episodes of television series including *Night Gallery* (1970–1971). He was born in San Francisco, California, and died in Ojai, California.
