James Ormerod (1924–2003) was a British television director and producer. Born on 30 April 1924 in Lancashire, England, he died on 14 April 2003 in Godalming, Surrey.

He directed episodes of series including *Upstairs, Downstairs* (1975), *Justice* (1971–1973), *South Riding* (1974) and *Spearhead* (1978–1981), and produced many of the same programmes. Ormerod also directed episodes of *No Hiding Place*, *Heartbeat* and *Saracen*, and won a BAFTA Award.
