## Biography

James Seymour Brett is an English composer and conductor. After graduating from the Royal Academy of Music in 1997, he began working with composer Michael Kamen on films including *The Iron Giant* (1999), *X-Men* (2000) and the television miniseries *Band of Brothers* (2001).

Brett composed the score for the animated feature *Planet 51* (2009). His other film work includes scores for *Outpost* (2008), *Lay the Favorite* (2012), *Eat Locals* (2017) and *Waiting for Anya* (2020). He has also served as conductor and orchestrator on projects such as *Alien vs. Predator* (2004), *2012* (2009), *In the Heart of the Sea* (2015) and *Black Adam* (2022), and collaborated with Roland Emmerich and Stephen Frears.

Beyond film, Brett has composed for arena shows including *Walking with Dinosaurs – The Arena Spectacular* and *Batman Live*, and conducted events such as the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations in 2012.
