James T. Mack was an American character actor active in film from the mid-1910s to the early 1940s. He was also credited as James McElhern and James MacElhern. Born in Chicago, he began his career on the stage as a musical comedy performer and appeared in several Broadway productions, including the original 1921 run of *Anna Christie*.

Mack is best known for numerous supporting and uncredited roles in Hollywood films. These include the Minister in *Steamboat Bill, Jr.* (1928), the High School Principal in *College* (1927), Johnny the Harpist in *Anna Christie* (1930), Pop in *Libeled Lady* (1936), the Prompter in *Citizen Kane* (1941), and the Minister in *Theodora Goes Wild* (1936). He died in Hollywood in 1948.
