James Wood is a British screenwriter. He created and wrote the BBC sitcom *Rev.* (2010–2014), co-created with Tom Hollander, and has written episodes of *The Great* (2020), on which he also served as co-executive producer for series 1 and 3.

His other credits include creating and writing *Quacks* (2017), writing the BBC adaptation *Decline and Fall* (2017), and episodes of *Trying* (2020–2024), *Vexed* (2010–2012), *The Gamechangers* (2015) and *Malice* (2025). He is a BAFTA-winning screenwriter.
