## Biography

Jamie Bartlett (9 July 1966 – 23 May 2022) was a British-born South African actor. Born in Maidenhead, Berkshire, England, he trained in speech and drama at the University of Cape Town and appeared in numerous stage productions, including at the Market Theatre.

He was best known for his television roles as Mike O'Reilly in *Isidingo* (1998) and David Genaro in *Rhythm City* (2007–2019). His film credits include *Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom* (2013) as James Gregory, *Beyond Borders* (2003), *Red Dust* (2004), *Prey* (2007) and *White Lion* (2010). Bartlett won a Naledi Theatre Award and several South African Film and Television Awards. He was formerly married to actress Camilla Waldman.
