Jan Fischer, also credited as Janice Fischer, was an American writer and actress. Born in Studio City, California, she studied in the drama department at Los Angeles Valley College and appeared in three episodes of the television series *Ironside* (1968–1972). She performed in improvisational comedy with the Village Idiots, a group that included Michael Keaton, and appeared regularly on *Don Kirshner's Rock Concert* in the 1970s before transitioning to writing.

Her writing credits include creating the series *The Good Book* (1982) and episodes of *The Golden Girls* (1987), *Tough Cookies* (1986) and *I Married Dora* (1987). She wrote the story and screenplay for the film *The Lost Boys* (1987) and received a characters credit on *Lost Boys: The Tribe* (2008). She also appeared in the film *Good-bye Cruel World* (1982). Fischer died in Los Angeles in 2011.
