## Biography

Jana Schmieding is a Native American comedian, actor, writer and podcaster of Cheyenne River Lakota (Mniconjou and Sicangu) descent. She is known for playing Bev in the series *Reservation Dogs* (2021–2023) and for starring as Reagan Wells, which she also wrote for, in the sitcom *Rutherford Falls* (2021–2022).

She grew up in Canby, Oregon, graduated from the University of Oregon in 2005 with a degree in theatre arts, and holds a master’s in teaching from Mercy College. Schmieding taught in New York City schools for a decade while performing improv and sketch comedy, before moving to Los Angeles. She has hosted the podcast *Woman of Size* and co-hosts *Sage-Based Wisdom*.
