## Biography

Jane Curtin is an American actress and comedian. Born on 6 September 1947 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she trained at Elizabeth Seton College and began her career in comedy groups and off-Broadway productions.

She rose to prominence as one of the original cast members of *Saturday Night Live* from 1975 to 1980. Curtin won back-to-back Emmy Awards for her lead role as Allison Lowell in the sitcom *Kate & Allie* (1984–1989) and later played Dr Mary Albright in *3rd Rock from the Sun* (1996–2001).

Her film credits include Prymatt in *Coneheads* (1993), Muffy in *Antz* (1998), Mrs Mullins in *The Heat* (2013) and Marjorie in *Can You Ever Forgive Me?* (2018). She has also appeared in *The Librarian* television films as Charlene.
