## Biography

Jane Loring (1890–1983) was an American film editor active during the late silent era and early sound period. Born in Denver, Colorado, she began her career editing movie trailers before joining the Famous Players–Lasky editing staff in 1926. She later moved to RKO, where she edited films and worked as an assistant director, often in collaboration with producer Pandro S. Berman.

Loring edited several films starring Katharine Hepburn, including *Alice Adams* (1935) and *Sylvia Scarlett* (1935). Other credits include *Merrily We Go to Hell* (1932) and *A Woman Rebels* (1936). She was related to screenwriter Hope Loring.
