## Biography

Janet Varney is an American actress, comedian, writer and producer. She was born on 16 February 1976 in Tucson, Arizona, and graduated from San Francisco State University with a degree in theatre.

She is known for voicing the title character in the Nickelodeon series *The Legend of Korra* (2012–2014). Varney had a recurring role as Becca Barbara in the FX series *You're the Worst* (2014–2019) and co-starred as Evie Barret in *Stan Against Evil* (2016–2018). She hosted TBS's *Dinner and a Movie* from 2005 to 2011.

Varney is a co-founder of the San Francisco Sketchfest comedy festival. Her other credits include guest appearances in *How I Met Your Mother*, *Bones* and *Psych*, and voice roles in *Harley Quinn* and *The Legend of Vox Machina*.
