## Biography

Jang Young-gyu is a South Korean composer and music director. Born in 1968, he began working in film in the late 1990s on Jang Sun-woo's *Timeless, Bottomless* and has since contributed to more than sixty feature films.

He is credited as composer on *Train to Busan* (2016), *The Wailing* (2016), *Sympathy for Mr. Vengeance* (2002), *A Bittersweet Life* (2005), *The Good, the Bad, the Weird* (2008), *The Yellow Sea* (2010), *Alienoid* (2022) and *Alienoid: Return to the Future* (2024). He has also worked on *Seoul Station* (2016) and the *Star Wars: Visions* episode "Journey to the Dark Head" (2021).

Jang frequently collaborates with composer Dalpalan and has received three wins and sixteen nominations for his film scores.
