## Biography

Janine Nabers is an American playwright and television writer. Born in Houston, Texas, she holds a BFA in theatre from Ithaca College and an MFA in playwriting from The New School. She was a two-time Lila Acheson Wallace fellow at the Juilliard School and won the 2014 Yale Drama Series Prize for her play *Serial Black Face*.

Nabers began writing for television on Bravo's *Girlfriends' Guide to Divorce*. Her credits include *UnREAL*, *Dietland*, *Away*, *Watchmen* (for which she received a Writers Guild of America Award) and *Atlanta*, on which she served as a writer and co-executive producer and shared a Peabody Award. She co-created the Amazon series *Swarm* with Donald Glover, which won the NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Limited Series.
