## Biography

Jarl Kulle was a Swedish stage and screen actor. He trained at the Royal Dramatic Theatre's acting school, graduating in 1949, and remained a member of the ensemble until 1995, appearing in dozens of plays. He also performed in musicals, notably as Henry Higgins in *My Fair Lady* at Oscarsteatern in Stockholm from 1959.

Kulle appeared in numerous films, including several directed by Ingmar Bergman. He played Count Carl Magnus Malcolm in *Smiles of a Summer Night* (1955) and Gustav Adolf Ekdahl in *Fanny and Alexander* (1982), a role for which he received a Guldbagge Award. Other credits include General Lorens Löwenhielm in *Babette's Feast* (1987) and Don Juan in *The Devil's Eye* (1960). He also directed a number of films in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
