Jay Beattie is a television writer and producer. He has written episodes for series including *American Horror Story* (2019), *Criminal Minds*, *Outer Banks* (2020–), *Star Trek: Discovery* (2019), *Scorpion* (2015), *Revenge* and *Cold Case*.

Beattie created *Matador* (2014) and *The Crossing* (2018), and developed *Scream: The TV Series* (2015–2019). He has worked as consulting producer, co-executive producer or executive producer on many of these programmes, including as showrunner on *Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol* (2021). He also contributed to *The Event* (2010) and *Surface* (2005).
