## Biography

Jay Daniel was a television and film producer. He worked as producer on the ABC series *Moonlighting* (1985–1989), directing four episodes of the show, and as co-producer on the 1988 feature film *Clean and Sober*. He later produced episodes of *Roseanne* (1990–1994) and served as executive producer on *Cybill* (1995–1998) and other series.

Daniel began his career after graduating from Oklahoma State University and attending graduate school at UCLA. He worked as an assistant director on series including *The Brady Bunch* and *Police Story* before producing television films and specials in the early 1980s. He received Primetime Emmy nominations for outstanding drama series for *Moonlighting* in 1986 and 1987.

Daniel died on 27 May 2026 in Tarzana, California.
