## Biography

Jay Folb (13 October 1922 – 10 August 1997) was an American television writer, producer and story consultant. Born in Glen Cove, New York, he began his career in advertising before moving to Hollywood in the late 1950s to write for anthology series including *Alfred Hitchcock Presents*.

Folb contributed to *M*A*S*H* (1972) as a writer on five episodes between 1975 and 1977, with story, teleplay and written-by credits, and served as story consultant and executive story consultant on dozens of episodes from 1976 to 1978. He also wrote for *Maude* (1972), receiving a Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series in 1976, and worked on series such as *AfterMASH* and *Foot in the Door*.
