Jay Scherick is a screenwriter and producer. He is the son of producer Edgar J. Scherick. He began his career in production roles on films including *The Natural* (1984), *Desperately Seeking Susan* (1985) and *Radio Days* (1987).

His writing credits include the screenplays for *I Spy* (2002), *Serving Sara* (2002), *National Security* (2003), *Guess Who* (2005), *Norbit* (2007), *Zookeeper* (2011), *The Smurfs* (2011), *The Smurfs 2* (2013), *Baywatch* (2017) and *Clifford the Big Red Dog* (2021).
