Havez, also credited as Jean Constant Havez, was an American screenwriter and songwriter. He wrote scenarios for comedians including Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd and Roscoe Arbuckle, and contributed to vaudeville and musical comedy. Havez supplied the story for *Sherlock Jr.* (1924), the screenplay for *Our Hospitality* (1923) and the screen version for *Seven Chances* (1925). He also worked on *The Navigator* (1924), *Three Ages* (1923) and *Safety Last!* (1923). A charter member of ASCAP from 1914, he composed novelty songs such as "Everybody Works But Father" and "Darktown Poker Club".
