## Biography

Jean Keraudy was the stage name of Roland Barbat (1920–2001), a French actor. He is known for playing the character Roland Darbant in the 1960 film *Le Trou*, directed by Jacques Becker.

Barbat had been one of the inmates involved in a 1947 escape attempt from La Santé Prison in Paris, an event that inspired José Giovanni's novel of the same name and the subsequent film adaptation. He appeared in the film under the pseudonym Jean Keraudy. He also appeared as himself in television programmes including *Cinépanorama* and *Dossier Souvenirs*.
