## Biography

Jean Lisette Aroeste (2 October 1932 – August 2020) was an American librarian and screenwriter. She worked in acquisitions at the Harvard University Library from 1954 to 1962 and later as a reference librarian at the University of California, Los Angeles. While at UCLA she became a fan of the science-fiction series *Star Trek* and submitted an unsolicited script.

Her first sale, the teleplay "Is There in Truth No Beauty?", aired in 1968 after being recommended by co-producer Robert H. Justman. She also wrote the story for "All Our Yesterdays", which was produced as the penultimate episode of the original series in 1969. These were her only television writing credits.

Aroeste subsequently served as head of references and collection development at the Princeton University Library. She died in August 2020 at the age of 87.
