## Biography

Jean Parker (born Lois May Green; 11 August 1915 – 30 November 2005) was an American film and stage actress. Born in Deer Lodge, Montana, she was discovered by MGM after winning a poster contest and made her feature film debut in *Divorce in the Family* (1932).

She appeared in more than 70 films between 1932 and 1966. Notable roles include Louise in Frank Capra's *Lady for a Day* (1933) and Beth in *Little Women* (1933). She also starred opposite Laurel and Hardy in *The Flying Deuces* (1939) and appeared in *The Gunfighter* (1950).

Parker made her Broadway debut in 1946 and toured veteran hospitals during the Second World War. She was married four times and had one son.
