## Biography

Jean-Pierre Dorat is a French actor and dubbing director. Born Jean-Pierre Goldblatt on 10 May 1937, he is the son of actor and dubbing adaptor Charles Dorat.

His acting credits include the role of Jean in Jacques Demy’s *The Umbrellas of Cherbourg* (1964), as well as appearances in *Lucky Jo* (1964), *A Woman in White* (1965), *Le franciscain de Bourges* (1968), *Strogoff* (1970) and the television series *Les gens de Mogador* (1972–1973).

Dorat later became a prominent directeur artistique, supervising French dubs for numerous international films including the *X-Men* series and the second and third *Star Wars* trilogies. He retired after directing the French version of *Star Wars: The Last Jedi* (2017).
