Jean Riveyre was a French actor. Born Jean-Georges Bussard de Saint-Araille on 29 September 1904 in Courbevoie, he adopted his stage name for a career that began in the theatre. He was a member of the Compagnie Pitoëff for several years and appeared in productions including *La Belle Hôtesse* (1931) and *Sainte Jeanne* (1940).

His film roles were mainly supporting parts. He played Le Comte in Robert Bresson's *Diary of a Country Priest* (1951), Julien, le valet de chambre in Jacques Becker's *Edward and Caroline* (1951), the hotel porter in *Touchez Pas au Grisbi* (1954) and Gilchrist in *The Witches of Salem* (1957). He died in Paris on 21 December 1990.
