Jeanne Cooper was an American actress. Born Wilma Jeanne Cooper on 25 October 1928 in Taft, California, she died on 8 May 2013 in Los Angeles.

She began her career in the 1950s with guest roles in series including *Perry Mason* and *The Twilight Zone* (1959), in which she played Miss Smith. Cooper is best known for portraying Katherine Chancellor on the daytime soap opera *The Young and the Restless* from November 1973 until her death, becoming one of the longest-serving actors in American soap opera history.

She received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and won Daytime Emmy Awards, including a lifetime achievement award in 2004. Cooper was the mother of actor Corbin Bernsen.
