## Biography

Jeff McCarthy is an American actor and director. Born on 16 October 1954 in Los Angeles, he grew up in Santa Maria and studied at the Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts before completing an MFA in acting at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.

He made his Broadway debut in 1983 and originated the role of Officer Lockstock in the 2001 musical *Urinetown*. McCarthy has appeared in films including *RoboCop 2* (1990), *Cliffhanger* (1993), *Joker* (2019) and *The Devil All the Time* (2020). On television he has guest-starred in series such as *Star Trek: The Next Generation* (1987), *Law & Order* (1990), *Law & Order: Special Victims Unit* (1999–2006), *Elementary* (2012) and *Severance* (2022), in which he voiced the Nature Documentary Voice. He also provided the voice of Michigan J. Frog for the WB network.
