## Biography

Jeffrey Holland is an English actor. Born Jeffrey Michael Parkes on 17 July 1946 in Walsall, he trained at the Birmingham School of Speech Training and Dramatic Art and began his career in repertory theatre.

He is best known for playing Spike Dixon in the BBC sitcom *Hi-de-Hi!* (1980–1988). He appeared in guest roles in *Are You Being Served?* (1972) and *Dad's Army* (1968), and later played James Twelvetrees in *You Rang, M'Lord?* (1988–1993) and Cecil Parkin in *Oh, Doctor Beeching!* (1995–1997). Holland worked regularly with writers Jimmy Perry and David Croft.
