## Biography

Jeffrey Lau Chun-Wai is a Hong Kong director, screenwriter, producer and occasional actor. He studied graphic design in the United Kingdom before returning to Hong Kong to work in advertising.

He co-founded film companies Century Films and Wu Zhou Century Films with Dennis Yu in 1980. Lau made his directorial debut with *The Haunted Cop Shop* (1987). His credits as director and writer include *All for the Winner* (1990), *The Eagle Shooting Heroes* (1993), *The Legend* (1993) and the two *A Chinese Odyssey* films (1995).

As a producer he worked on several Wong Kar-wai films, including *Chungking Express* (1994), *Ashes of Time* (1994) and *Fallen Angels* (1995), as well as *Kung Fu Hustle* (2004).
