## Biography

Jehanne d'Alcy, also credited as Jeanne d'Alcy, was a French actress. Born Charlotte Lucie Marie Adèle Stephanie Adrienne Faës on 20 March 1865 in Vaujours, she performed at the Théâtre Robert-Houdin in Paris from the late 1880s and appeared in numerous short films by Georges Méliès.

Her credits include *Le manoir du diable* (1896), *The Vanishing Lady* (1896), *After the Ball* (1897), *Cinderella* (1899), *Bluebeard* (1901) and *A Trip to the Moon* (1902), in which she played the secretary, a star and a rocket attendant. She also worked as a costume designer on some productions.

D'Alcy married Méliès in 1925. She appeared as herself in the framing sequences of *Le Grand Méliès* (1952). She died on 14 October 1956 in Versailles.
