Jennie Snyder Urman is an American television writer and producer. She was born on 6 June 1975 in Rye, New York, and graduated from Princeton University with a BA in English in 1999.

Urman began her career as a staff writer on the ABC sitcom *Hope & Faith* (2003–2006). She subsequently worked on *Gilmore Girls* (2006–2007) as a writer and co-producer, followed by producing and writing roles on *Men in Trees*, *Lipstick Jungle* and *90210*. She created the series *Emily Owens, M.D.* (2012–2013) and *Jane the Virgin* (2014–2019), and has also worked on *Reign*, *Charmed* (2018) and *Matlock* (2024).
